IMPROVING DIGITAL LITERACY FOR OLDER ADULTS

Bridging Generational Gaps in the Digital Age

Empowering older adults with the digital skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly connected world.

As digital technology becomes an essential part of modern life, older adults often struggle to adapt, facing a digital divide that can hinder their social, cognitive, and economic engagement. This research explores the challenges older adults face in acquiring digital literacy and evaluates existing educational programs aimed at improving their technological proficiency. Through group studies, educational initiatives, and public resources, the paper investigates key methods to enhance digital literacy for older adults, such as hands-on learning, supportive environments, and tailored curricula. The findings highlight that greater digital literacy not only improves the quality of life for older adults but also fosters societal inclusion and participation. By addressing issues like ageism, anxiety, and cognitive decline, this paper offers insights into creating more effective strategies to support digital learning in this demographic, ultimately aiming to empower older adults to confidently navigate the digital landscape.
